Locals gathered in Yerevan, Thursday, to demonstrate in support of detained protesters who had met Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan with rallies during his tour in southern Armenia.
Dozens were seen gathered at the Nalbandyana street demanding to release those detained at protests in the southern Sunik region. Then protesters hit the streets of the Armenian capital and ended up next to the General Prosecutor's office building, where scuffles with police erupted. As the Internal Affairs Ministry reported, protesters threw projectiles at the building, trying to get in.
On Wednesday Pashinyan visited southern Armenian towns of Megri, Agarak, Kadrazhan, and Kapan, where he was met with protests. People chanted insulting slogans and demanded him to leave. Some criminal cases have reportedly been opened on the incidents of hooliganism.
