Description

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro that opposition leader Juan Guaido will be arrested when Venezuelan justice decides so, during a press conference on Friday in Caracas.

"The day that the courts of the Republic give the mandate to detain Mr Juan Guaido for all the crimes he has committed, that day he goes to jail," said the president in front of the international media in the Miraflores Palace.

He also stressed that "we aspire to justice, to the rights of the people of Venezuela being protected, that all sanctions are lifted and those responsible for crimes against our people will be punished."

Washington expressed its support for Guaido after his self-proclamation as “interim president" a year ago, and has intensified sanctions against the Bolivarian Republic to make pressure and force the Venezuelan president out.
