Description

Russian and Turkish troops held their third joint patrol of the Turkey-Syria border area near the north-eastern Syrian village of Al Muabbadah in Al Hasakah Governorate, on Friday.

Footage shows the military convoy driving east of the city, as groups of protesters could be seen pelting the Turkish armoured vehicles with rocks.

Fouad Saadi, a representative of the Syrian Democratic Union Party, commented on the incident saying "as for the Russian patrols, we have nothing against them," adding that the people oppose the Turkish military and Turkish-backed forces.

It is the third deployment of a joint patrol, as part of a deal reached between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Sochi on October 22, with the aim of monitoring and ensuring the evacuation of the Kurdish fighters from the area.
