Thousands of women from Karachi organised a massive show of solidarity with the Palestinian people on Thursday. Demonstrators turned up at the Karachi Press Club marching and chanting slogans, calling for an immediate ceasefire from Israel and an end to the bombing of Gaza.
"We are demanding justice for our Palestinian brothers and sisters. We are speaking against Israeli forces. This is not a conflict, this is a genocide, and this is highly, highly contaminable. We are standing with our Palestinians and this is what we are going to march about today," stated protester Hira Zainab.
Since last Monday, violence including rockets fired from Gaza has killed 12 civilians in Israel, including two children, while a campaign of Israeli military strikes has killed at least 230 people, including 65 children according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
"We want to show Palestinian public that we are with them in the oppression against them. The Pakistani public is with them and all of our prayers are with Palestinian public," said demonstrator Shumaila But.
