A masked protester has been arrested for firearm possession outside Kenosha courthouse, Wisconsin, on Thursday, as jury deliberations for the case of Kyle Rittenhouse remain ongoing.

Kenosha police could be seen escorting the man, who kept his face hidden from cameras, to a police vehicle before driving away.

The arrest was made due to the protester carrying the firearm within 1000 feet (305 metres) of a school, which is prohibited in Wisconsin.

Black Lives Matter protesters and Rittenhouse supporters could also be seen outside the courthouse, as well as the late Daunte Wright's brother and Wisconsin State Senate member Lena Taylor.

"I hope for a verdict that will feel like justice to the families who have lost their families and those that have been harmed, and those that have been victimised by this whole experience just looking at it on the news, and looking at it in their community," said Taylor.

Eighteen-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse is accused of shooting three men during protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin, following the police shooting of Jacob Blake, who was left paralysed.

The three victims were Anthony Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum, who were killed, and Gaige Grosskreutz, who was seriously wounded.
