Description

Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido called for a demonstration outside the Venezuelan National Assembly on March 10 "to find a solution to the crisis," during an event in Caracas on Friday.

"Let us go together to the National Assembly. Go together to the home of the laws, of civilisation. Walking and marching with force, we get up in every corner of the country. Let's take to the streets," Guaido told his supporters.

"We won't accept anything less than freedom and democracy for the Venezuelan people. And if they want to send me or anyone of my family members to jail, well, here I am, showing my face," the opposition leader added.

The United States expressed its support for Guaido after his self-proclamation as "interim president" a year ago, and has intensified sanctions against the Bolivarian Republic to put pressure on and force Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro out.
