Russian President Vladimir Putin left Geneva's Villa La Grange on Wednesday after holding a summit with US President Joe Biden and bilateral talks with his Swiss counterpart Guy Parmelin.

The Russian leader commented earlier in a press conference that the talks with Biden, which lasted around three and a half hours, were positive and cordial in tone, and that progress was made on a number of international political issues.

During the bilateral meeting with Swiss President Guy Parmelin, which took place after the Biden summit, Putin thanked the president for providing a platform for the Russia-US talks. He also noted the hospitality of Geneva as the host city.

The meeting between the US and Russian presidents was the first between the pair since Biden took office in January.
