Description

Small numbers of supporters of newly-installed President Joe Biden took to the streets of Washington DC on Wednesday, as did opponents of the new president.

Fans of Biden were seen gathering near the Capitol building with many expressing their happiness on inauguration day.

"This is definitely a day of celebration. Not only because Donald Trump is gone but because this is a new beginning and definitely gonna be a lot better than these last four years," said Cloe Kepple, a Biden fan.

Pro-Trump and anti-abortion demonstrators were seen protesting with sign and flags. "President Trump's legacy will be about policy. His personality was rough we all know that. Maybe Joe Biden has a nicer personality. But the presidency is about policy," said Randall Terry, a Trump supporter, adding, "his legacy will live on for many many years."

More than 25,000 soldiers and police officers were deployed in DC ahead of the inauguration in light of the deadly storming of the US Capitol by Trump supporters on January 6.
