Israeli police suppressed acts of protest that took place in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood on Friday.

Police beat demonstrators with batons, forcing them to move away from the site of the demonstration, which was originally planned near the home of a family threatened with eviction.

Tensions and protests escalated in the area after Knesset Member Itamar Ben Gvir opened a temporary office in the neighbourhood last week.
