US President Joe Biden hit back at a journalist's comments regarding his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, telling her 'you're in the wrong business', in Geneva on Wednesday.

Biden could be seen preparing to leave the press conference following his summit with the Russian leader, when CNN White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins questioned the effectiveness of the meeting.

"Given [Putin's] past behaviour has not changed, and in that press conference, after sitting down with you for several hours, he denied any involvement in cyberattacks, he downplayed human rights abuses, he even refused to say Alexei Navalny's name, so how does that account to a constructive meeting?" Collins could be heard asking.

President Biden responded briefly, saying, "If you don't understand that, you're in the wrong business," before promptly leaving the stage.

The US-Russia summit marked the last stop on Biden's week-long European tour, and was the first in-person meeting between the two presidents since Biden took office in January.
