Argentina's Security Minister Patricia Bullrich Friday released a picture and data of the alleged Hezbollah leader in Latin America, during a press conference in Buenos Aires on Friday.
"It was not known that Nain was Karaki, it is the first time that it has been revealed, Nain in the cases in Argentina Naim, is a ghost. Today, the ghost has a name, surname and photo, that is our reality and he is in Lebanon, that is also new, he is in Lebanon," Bullrich stated.
She went on to mention that the suspect was identified as Hussein Ahmad Karaki and was said involved in the bombings in Buenos Aires of the Israeli Embassy in 1992 and the Argentine Israeli Mutual Association (AMIA) in 1994.
"This man was the one who bought and prepared the van that exploded in the Israeli embassy. Today, we have come to provide the information of the person of Hezbollah Head of Latin America who was the one who directly bought the car bomb in the name of Elias Ribeiro Dalu, Brazilian document number 340 31 567, a false document, and that a few hours before the attack he left through the Jorge Newbery airport in the city of Buenos Aires Aires on the way to Foz de Iguazu," Bullrich added.
She also announced that Interpol had issued a red alert regarding Karaki. In January 1992, Karaki, reportedly, recruited a terrorist named Hussein Suleiman in Sao Paulo, to smuggle 5 kilogrammes of explosives into Argentina, which later were used in attacks. While in Argentina, he pretended to be a Colombian citizen under the name Alberto Leon Nain.
