"Your country [Nigeria] and ours have a role to play in maintaining and developing the thesis of multipolarity. I believe this is one of the most important tasks of our time. <...> It is a way of escaping, or at least containing, the outbreak of such eternal problems of humanity as racism, Nazism, segregation, exploitation," Zakharova stated.
She also addressed the recent expansion of BRICS, noting that the organisation began working in a new format during the Russian presidency.
"A year ago it was decided to expand BRICS to include several countries at once. This is unprecedented... There were states from different parts of the planet, different continents, different traditions, different levels of economic development," she explained. Zakharova indicated that integrating new members requires time for internal processes and mechanisms to be adjusted.
Additionally, Zakharova criticised the Olympic Games in Paris, describing the opening and closing ceremonies as "a declaration of everything that has traditionally been regarded as absolute evil, from generation to generation, in different countries, by different peoples, on different continents."
The 10th Territory of Meanings National Educational Forum, held annually at the Senezh Management Lab in Solnechnogorsk, serves as a platform for motivated young individuals from various countries to strengthen ties with Russia.
