DPRK Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui claimed that West’s 'anti-Russian confrontational policy' had led to the Ukrainian crisis, during the 'Diplomacy and Geopolitics of the 21st Century: Women's Perspective on Solving Global Problems' session of the Eurasian Women's Forum in St Petersburg on Friday.

"The Ukrainian crisis, one of the geopolitical crises facing the world today, is the direct outcome of the anti-Russian confrontational policy of the United States and the Western countries that have systematically violated the legitimate and rational security interests of Russian Federation of the past decades," she alleged.

Meanwhile, former Austrian foreign minister Karin Kneissl said that Western diplomats were demonstrating a 'teenage mindset', adding that Russia was showing a "much higher level of professional diplomacy".

"I have seen a much higher level of professional diplomacy within the Russian Federation, within countries like India, the People's Republic of China, or South America. And I always said, and this will really now be my last sentence, whenever I wanted to meet adults, I had to turn East. Unfortunately, the part of the world where I originally come from is too much dominated today by people with a teenage mindset - highly emotional, not really rational," Kneissl said.

Moldovan MP Marina Tauber emphasised that the world was undergoing changes 'before our eyes' and becoming 'polycentric' - but stressed that such developments did 'not suit' Western countries.

"The world is changing before our eyes, it is becoming polycentric. The key role in international relations is shifting to dialogue from the position of equality and humanism. But we see that such changes do not suit everyone, and, unfortunately, this is very strongly manifested in Moldova. They consider themselves 'big', let's use quotes here. Western partners are not going to take into account alternative opinions," she said.

The IV Eurasian Women's Forum is scheduled for September 18-20 in St Petersburg. According to organisers, it represents the largest international platform for discussing the role of women in modern society.
