Description

Students in both Puebla and Madrid were seen preparing for the World Youth Festival in Russia.

Footage from Mexico on Wednesday shows a traditional performance with young people dressed in national costumes; the women wearing elegant long dresses and the men in 'charro' outfits.

Pablo Enrique Lozano, one of the participants, said the cultural experience would 'unify our countries more'.

"I feel that it is a unique experience in which one can go to represent our country proudly, meeting new people, exchanging these cultural aspects," the young man added.

In footage from Madrid on February 7, another participant, Garin Moreno, stated that the festival represented an opportunity for cultural exchange and the promotion of peace.

"I believe that this is a great opportunity to demonstrate, among other things, the objectives that we are all pursuing together, which is, on the one hand, to acquire knowledge of the culture of international relations and, above all, to link up with the Russian people and their intentions to establish peace in the world, which we are all pursuing together as young people," he said.

The World Festival of Youth is scheduled to run on March 1-7, 2024, in Russia's Sirius Federal Territory. It aims to develop international youth co-operation and brings together up to 20,000 young people, with 160,000 applying from across more than 180 countries.

The Sirius 'Innovation Science and Technology Centre' is the first federal territory in Russia located on the Black Sea coast near the city of Sochi.
