The crash site of a Sukhoi Superjet 100 passenger aircraft could be seen near Kolomna in Moscow region on Friday, after the plane came down in woodland.
Footage shows broken trees and burnt plane debris, as well as emergency personnel at the scene.
Kolomna Mayor Alexander Grechishchev wrote on his Telegram channel that the 'exact location' had been determined.
"It is a forest area near the village of Bolshoye Karasevo. There is no threat to the residents of the surrounding settlements," he stated.
Earlier, the Russian Emergencies Ministry reported that according to preliminary data, all three crew members on board were killed and there were no other casualties. The United Aircraft Corporation disclosed that the aircraft, which went into service in 2014, was on a transfer flight to the airport.
The Investigative Committee of Russia initiated a criminal case related to the 'violation of air transport safety regulations'. The Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) will lead the investigation into the crash, as confirmed by the press service of the Federal Air Transport Agency.
