Representative of the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) Hayla Al Mikami, said that tourists from Kuwait were keen to see the 'Russian winter' and start travelling more around the country, speaking at the Eurasian Women's Forum in St Petersburg on Thursday.

"Kuwaiti tourists who have started to come to Russia and spend their summer time, and now they want to come in winter because they want to see the Russian winter. And this is new. Even for our embassies it's new…These families come because they think that this country is safe. <...> Arab students, for example, also our youth are so eager to come to Russia and also to explore its culture, its history and its challenges," Al Mikami said.

According to the GCC representative, dialogue between countries should be based on 'multipolarity' and other common values in order to move 'away from Western centrism'.

For her part, Jehad Abdulla Mohamed AlFadhel, second deputy chairperson of Consultative Council of Bahrain's National Assembly, stressed that relations between Manama and Moscow reflect a 'shared commitment to mutual growth'.

"Our bilateral relations have been developing steadily at all levels: political, economic, military, security, cultural, scientific, technological and other areas of co-operation. This comprehensive partnership has reached the level of integration and high-level strategic alliance," the representative added.

The IV Eurasian Women's Forum takes place on September 18-20 in St Petersburg.
