Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov engaged in talks with Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves of St. Vincent and the Grenadines on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly on Wednesday.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry's press service, the two sides had a constructive exchange on key aspects of bilateral cooperation, covering political, cultural, humanitarian, and other areas. They also discussed their interaction within the United Nations and other multilateral and regional platforms, emphasising a trusting and open dialogue.
In a light-hearted moment, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova shared on her Telegram channel that Lavrov presented Gonsalves with a souvenir, noting the Prime Minister's fondness for Tula pryanik, a traditional Russian gingerbread.
"The Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines is a big fan of Tula pryanik. And Sergei Lavrov remembers that," Zakharova wrote, highlighting the personal touch in their diplomatic exchange.
Lavrov will address the General Assembly on September 28. Also on the Minister's programme is participation in several bilateral and multilateral meetings, including CSTO, BRICS, G20 and the Group of Friends for the Defence of the UN Charter.
