Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov, speaking at the 14th meeting of BRICS Economy ministers in Moscow on Friday, claimed that a number of countries are experiencing the ‘unfair fight’ in international trade, where certain companies are being 'kicked out of the markets'.

"Certainly, a lot of countries, witnessing this, are extremely concerned, and we are all interested in reforming the WTO, in reviving the WTO dispute settlement system, which is currently blocked by Western countries," he stressed.

First Deputy Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of Egypt Yahya Al-Wathiq Be-Allah noted that Cairo has a lot of joint projects with Russia, India, and China in the renewable energy sector, as well as in automobile, textile and chemical industries.

"And we received in the last period a lot of Russian delegations, Indian delegations, delegations from China. All are looking to invest in Egypt, whether inland or through projects inside the economic zone, service [Suez] canal economic zone," he added.

Russia has been chairman of the BRICS grouping since January 1, 2024, when five countries became full members of the bloc, namely Egypt, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Ethiopia.
