٠٠:٠٠:١١Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met with Iranian Foreign Minister Sayyid Abbas Araghchi on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly's 79th session in New York on Friday.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the diplomats exchanged views on 'topical international and regional issues, including the situation around the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the Iranian nuclear programme, the situation in the Transcaucasus and in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone'.
The ministers also reaffirmed their intention to continue the strategic partnership between the countries.
Lavrov arrived in New York on Wednesday to take part in events at the UN General Assembly. The minister is also scheduled to attend several bilateral and multilateral meetings, including those of the CSTO, BRICS, G20 and the Group of Friends for the Defence of the UN Charter.
