Victory Day celebrations marking the 79th anniversary of the Soviet and allies' defeat of Nazi forces in World War II were held in the capitals of Armenia, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Belarus and Turkmenistan on Thursday.
Footage features thousands of people joining the Immortal Regiment processions and flower-laying ceremonies across former Soviet states and Mongolia.
"I have participated in Victory Day events many times. Today, I am very proud to participate. I served in the army for over 20 years. I hope such events will be held every year," said Gombosuren Altan-Garel from Ulaanbaatar.
The Immortal Regiment March is an annual tradition that takes place on Victory Day in many countries worldwide. It honours the memory of those who served in the Red Army by carrying portraits of soldiers and laying flowers at memorials.
Victory Day commemorates Nazi Germany's surrender at the end of World War II, known in Russia as the Great Patriotic War. Russia and Eastern countries traditionally mark the day on May 9, while in Europe it is May 8, due to the time difference in the signing of the capitulation.
