Supporters of front-runner presidential candidate Ebrahim Raisi gathered to rally in Tehran on Monday, ahead of the upcoming elections.

Supporters were seen waving Iranian flags and placards with the image of conservative judiciary chief Raisi while listening to speeches and performers.

Ahmad Farahani, the head of Raisi's committee of central strata, addressed the audience, "Negotiations will continue vigourously and strongly. The rights of the Iranian nation will be taken from the enemies of this nation," and added, "The JCPOA document must be implemented by the West. The Americans must come back and lift all sanctions, and we must verify it."

Speculations run that the candidate will withdraw Tehran from the nuclear agreement if he is elected to office on June 18.

According to local media, Raisi is ahead of the polls against contenders Mohsen Rezaei, former Revolutionary Guards chief, and former bank chief Abdolnaser Hemmati.
