"It's all well and good to say, yes, ceasefire, yes, ceasefire, and worry about the risk of a regional war, but if Western countries don't stop Israel's criminal machine, there's no reason for it to stop,” stated Veronique, a member of the France Palestine Solidarity Association and one of the rally organisers.
Other activists echoed this sentiment, expressing their frustration with Western leaders and accusing them of perpetuating the conflict by supporting Tel Aviv with military aid.
“Continuing the support to Israel must end. Israel will go as far as it is allowed to go,” shared Omar Alsoumi, an activist of the Urgence Palestine association.
According to local authorities, up to 5,000 protesters participated in the Paris rally, while similar demonstrations erupted across France, attracting tens of thousands of participants in cities such as Lyon, Toulouse, and Strasbourg.
