Presidential candidate for the 2024 elections Donald Trump slammed his fresh opponent Kamala Harris, who currently serves as Vice President under incumbent Joe Biden's administration, during his campaign rally in Charlotte, North Carolina on Wednesday.

"For three and a half years, 'lion' Kamala Harris has been the ultra-liberal driving force behind every single Biden catastrophe. She is a radical left lunatic who will destroy our country," Trump said during the rally.

"They say something happened to me when I got shot, I became nice. And when you're dealing with these people (Harris and Biden), they're very dangerous people, when you're dealing with them, you can't be too nice. You really can't be, so if you don't mind, I'm not going to be nice, is that okay?," he continued, seemingly making a joke on the July 13 shooting that almost took his life.

Trump went on by slamming the current VP as being 'absolutely terrible' and being appointed by 'this horrible guy' while talking about Biden's decision.

"But this November, the American people are going to tell her. No thanks Kamala, you've done a terrible job, you've been terrible at everything you've done, you're ultra-liberal and we don't want you here. We don't want you anywhere. Kamala, you're fired! Get out of here! You're fired!," Trump declared.

VP Harris officially joined the presidential elections following Biden's withdrawal from the race on Sunday, with the incumbent claiming that it is time to 'pass the torch to a new generation.' A great number of Democratic leaders had also shown their back for Harris to be the party's new candidate for the race against Trump.

Local polls suggested that Harris has clinched a two-percentage-point lead over Trump in the race, with 44 per cent against 42 per cent of the Republican candidate.

The US presidential election is scheduled for November 5. On July 15, the Republican Party convention nominated former White House Head of State Donald Trump.
