Description

Dozens of demonstrators showed their support for the 'Freedom Convoy,' a collection of truck drivers protesting a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for travel from the US into Canada, on Highway 401 in Toronto on Thursday.

Participants parked their cars at the side of the road and hoisted Canadian flags and banners over a bridge, whilst traffic drove beneath.

The gathering came as truckers from across Canada made their way to Ottawa, in preparation for a mass-protest against coronavirus restrictions on Friday.

On January 15, it became mandatory for all essential workers crossing the Canadian border from the US to show proof of vaccination in order to avoid testing and quarantine requirements.
