Description

The Israeli Defence Forces have released footage of a house fire in Kiryat Shmona, in northern Israel, following the missile attack by Hezbollah from southern Lebanon on Friday evening. The IDF claims that the Lebanese militant group has fired over 100 rockets since Friday morning.

Footage features damage to the house's wall, caused by a missile, with flames rising over it.

According to the IDF, ten rockets were fired at Kiryat Shmona. Some of them were intercepted by the Iron Dome system, while others landed in the city, but did not cause any injuries.

In a statement, Hezbollah announced that it "shelled and in batches the settlement of Kiryat Shmona with a barrage of Katyusha missiles, in response to the Israeli shelling of southern Lebanon and the targeting of civilians."

According to the IDF statement, sirens were activated in Tamra and Ibilin, near Haifa in the Lower Galilee, due to concerns about shrapnel from a drone that entered from southern Lebanon and was intercepted and repelled.

On Friday, there was an exchange of shelling between Hezbollah and the Israeli army. The IDF announced that they had targeted Hezbollah fighters in several villages in southern Lebanon, while Hezbollah has confirmed the death of several of its fighters.

Hezbollah and Palestinian factions have been exchanging cross-border shelling with the Israeli forces since October 8, one day after the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza.
