At least 5 people were wounded when an alleged Israeli airstrike destroyed a building in the south Lebanese city of Nabatieh on Wednesday evening, according to the country’s National News Agency.
Footage shows the aftermath of the strike that flattened a two-story building in the Masha'a neighbourhood, while dozens of houses nearby were damaged.
The National News Agency reported that rescue teams rushed to the site immediately after the attack, in which 5 people in the vicinity were wounded, with 14 others treated for shock and breathing difficulties in what was the first attack on Nabatieh since the flareup in cross-border strikes in October.
The Israel Defence Force (IDF) had not commented on the incident at the time of publication.
The IDF and Hezbollah, along with other Lebanese and Palestinian factions, have been exchanging fire between areas on either side of the Lebanon-Israel border since October 8th, a day after the outbreak of the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
