Description

The aftermath of an alleged Israeli strike in Damascus was seen on Tuesday.

Footage reveals destroyed buildings, roads and cars, as well as emergency workers and locals attempting to clear the site.

Local media reported a military source which claimed the strike came at 2:05am "from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan", with three reported killed and nine injured.

The Syrian General Authority for Radio and Television also reported that journalist Safaa Ahmed had been killed.

The Israeli military has not commented on the attack - and rarely does issue comments on such strikes - but has previously strongly denied targeting journalists or civilians.

It came as Israel began a ground assault in Lebanon on Tuesday, describing the operation as 'limited and targeted' raids, following the past week's campaign of airstrikes and the assassination of Hezbollah’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah.
