Description

'Freedom Convoy' protests continued in Ottawa on Saturday for the third consecutive weekend, while a counter-protester also took place.

Several counter-protesters marched holding signs with messages such as, 'Make Ottawa boring again.'

"Healthcare workers in Bruyere hospital have been harassed by the Convoy. Frontline workers at Shepherds of Good Hope have been harassed and assaulted by the Convoy. Retail, restaurant workers, Rideau centre workers. We've lost wages because of this convoy occupation," shouted one of the counter-protester, addressing the crowd.

'Freedom Convoy' truckers could be seen blocking Ottawa's streets while a large crowd of protesters held Canadian flags, with a few even seen playing hockey in the middle of the road.

"I think Doug Ford is just using another scare tactic to try and keep the demonstrations to a minimum," said a protester.

Doug Ford, the Premier of Ontario, announced heavy fines and penalties for individuals who 'impede the movement of goods, people, and services' on Sunday, as 'Freedom Convoy' truckers have been blocking access to the Ambassador Bridge, linking the US to Canada.

Canada's 'Freedom Convoy' protests have recently inspired similar ones in the USA, Australia, France, Austria, and the Netherlands.
