A concrete platform holding giant Olympic rings has been removed following the end of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games, as seen at Odaiba Marine Park, Tokyo on Wednesday.
Smaller boats surrounded the 69 tonne monument, which measured around 33 metres wide and 15 metres tall, before towing it away down the river.
The giant rings were first unveiled in January 2020, and were taken down for maintenance after the games were postponed due to the pandemic. They were reinstalled in December 2020.
The platform will be replaced with the 'Three Agitos' symbol for the Paralympics, which is scheduled to begin on August 24.
