US President Joe Biden claimed that 'no administration has helped Israel' more than he has during an unexpected appearance at a White House press conference on Saturday.

"I think Bibi should remember that," he added. "Whether he is trying to influence the election or not, I don't know, but I'm not counting on that."

Biden's statement came in response to speculations that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was 'trying to influence' elections in Israel by delaying any diplomatic agreements for a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon.

Following Iran's attack on Israel on Tuesday, Biden said that discussions regarding Tel Aviv's response are ongoing and that "Israelis have not concluded what they are going to do in terms of a strike."

"If I were in their shoes I would be thinking about other alternatives than striking oil fields," he added. "Our teams are in contact 12 hours a day. They are constantly in contact. [...] They are trying to figure it out. It's the holidays now as well and they will not make a decision immediately. So, we are gonna wait to see when they want to talk."

This comes after Iran launched a barrage of missiles at Israel on Tuesday evening, just hours after Israeli forces moved into southern Lebanon to eliminate 'Hezbollah terror targets.' The ground invasion comes after Israel dismissed calls by the US and France for a 21-day ceasefire in Lebanon.

Addressing local elections, the president said he is 'confident' that the election will be 'free and fair'.

"I don't know whether it will be peaceful," he added. "The things that Trump has said and the things that he said last time out, when he didn't like the outcome of the elections, were very dangerous."

"If you notice, I noticed, that the vice presidential Republican candidate did not say if he will accept the outcome of the elections. He hasn't accepted the outcome of the last election. So, I'm concerned about what they will do," Biden continued.

This comes after White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre previously said that 'no foreign government' was 'actively seeking to influence' the US elections.

Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are running a close race in key swing states after President Joe Biden dropped out of the presidential election in July. The candidates face off on November 5.
