Description

Several Black Lives Matter protesters demonstrated outside a court in Charlottesville, Virginia, as closing arguments began for the trial of 24 'Unite the Right' rally participants.

Jurors are set to determine whether organisers of a 2017 'Unite The Right' rally were responsible for violence following white supremacist James Alex Fields ramming his car into a crowd of protesters.

Nine Virginia residents filed the lawsuit, including Natalie Romero, who suffered a fractured skull and landscaper Marcus Martin, who suffered a broken ankle as a result of the attack.

The lawsuit will seek damages against rally organisers Jason Kessler and Richard Spencer.
