Former US President Donald Trump congratulated Russian leader Vladimir Putin on striking 'another great deal' while talking about the major prisoner swap between Russia and West, adding that Moscow got the better end of the agreement .
"By the way, I'd like to congratulate Vladimir Putin for having made yet another great deal. You just need to deal with it," commented Trump during his campaign rally in Atlanta on Saturday.
At the same time the Republican candidate criticised the US President Joe Biden for handling the swap, sating that agreement led to release of 'some of the greatest killers' in the world.
"We got our people back, but boy, we make some horrible, horrible deals, and it's nice to say we got them back. But does that set a bad precedent?" he questioned.
On Thursday, 26 people including 24 adults and two minors were released in the most significant prisoner exchange between Russia and the West since the Cold War. This exchange saw 16 prisoners held in Russia and 10 detainees, including two minors, in the US, Norway, Germany, Poland, and Slovenia set free.
Trump as well mocked Vice President Kamala Harris calling her 'low IQ individual' unfit to negotiate with China.
"President Xi of China said: 'Oh, good. We have another one. A low IQ individual.' They love dealing with low IQ. They love dealing with low-IQ people, and they got them here," said the politician.
At the time of publication, Chinese side has not commented on Trump's remarks.
Trump also urged his Democratic opponent Vice President Kamala Harris to participate in the debate on Fox News.
"They want to do another one [debate]. You know, we're doing one with Fox if she [Kamala Harris] shows up. I don't think she's going to. She can't talk, she could read a teleprompter. I give her about a six on a scale of 10," he stated.
The remark came after Harris rejected holding a debate on Fox News on September 4, proposed by Trump on Friday, instead insisting on a debate on ABC News on September 10. The ABC News debate was scheduled to be with Joe Biden, and Trump was refusing to commit until the Democratic Party nominee is formally chosen.
"It’s interesting how 'any time, any place' becomes 'one specific time, one specific safe space'," Harris responded on social media. "I’ll be there on September 10th, like he agreed to. I hope to see him there."
Republican frontrunner went on to label Harris 'incompetent' in handling the ongoing border crisis claiming migrants to come 'from all over the world'.
"They're coming from Africa and the Middle East. From prisons and jails," he explained. "A lot of coming from the Congo, from prisons. Where do you come from? The Congo. Oh, what's your address? I live in prison. What did you do? Murder. Oh, welcome to the United States of America," concluded the politician.
The US presidential election is scheduled for November 5. On July 15, the Republican Party convention nominated former President Donald Trump their candidate for the 2024 race.
