Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS) director general Matthieu Reeb announced that there would be 'no provisional suspension' of Russian skater Kamila Valieva, at a media briefing in Beijing on Monday.

CAS was issuing its ruling on the 15-year-old figure skater, after a positive doping test in December came to light. Valieva is free to continue competing at the Beijing Winter Games.

CAS has cited her 'protected person' status on account of her age as one of the grounds for its ruling.
