٠٠:٠٤:٠٠Hong Kong's young martial artists gathered outside the city's cultural centre near Victoria Harbour to participate in a thousand-person martial arts performance as the Chinese Kungfu x Dance Carnival kicked off on Tuesday.
Footage shows martial artists demonstrating their moves on stage as visitors watch and visit nearby tents for training. One visitor can also be seen practising his skills on a training dummy.
One guest said it is 'a treasure' to watch the younger generations training and keeping martial arts alive.
"You know, one must learn virtue before learning martial arts. Virtue is also very important. So, in addition to learning martial arts, I also hope that the students will start being a virtuous person from a young age. So, promoting this martial arts culture is killing two birds with one stone," another added.
The three-day event will also showcase a thousand-person Nunchaku performance on Wednesday as well as a thousand-person Tai Chi performance.
Around 3,000 performers from Hong Kong, mainland China, Macau and over 10 other countries are reportedly taking part in the carnival.
