Description

All truck drivers will have to be vaccinated against COVID as of January 15th as a mandatory requirement to cross between the Buffalo border in the US and Fort Erie in Canada. Footage filmed at the border near Fort Erie on Saturday shows dozens of trucks set to cross the border following the new federal mandate.

"I don't think the vaccination should be mandated, I don't think that at all but I think some people should find a reason for themselves to go get it you know a family member, reunion, personal health, right," shared trucker Vern Edmonds.

Unless they can present a valid medical exemption, Canadian truckers who do not meet the standard will be required to undergo molecular testing and quarantine.

US truckers will be turned away at the border by the Canadian Border Security Agency.

Some have expressed concern that the mandate will lead to increased shortages in the supply chain and higher food costs, as Canada and the US trade significant quantities of goods each year.
