Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha gifted the 'chalom', this year’s APEC logo, to US Vice President Kamala Harris during a symbolic handover ceremony to close the APEC summit in Bangkok on Saturday.
Chinese President Xi Jinping, Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong, President of the Philippines Bongbong Marcos as well as Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov also attended the event.
The ceremony came as Thailand handed over the chairmanship of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) to the United States. The next meeting will be held in San Francisco next year.
Heads of State and Government, as well as hundreds of delegates from the 21 member economies across the Asia-Pacific region, gathered for APEC, a two-day summit focusing on economic growth, post-pandemic recovery and green energy.
