Description

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Azerbaijan's Nakhichevan, on Monday, where his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev welcomed him.

Footage features Erdogan disembarking aeroplane and being welcomed by Aliyev as well as Azerbaijani officials.

While the primary purpose of the visit was the official inauguration of a gas pipeline construction project, the two Presidents were scheduled to engage in discussions about Nagorno-Karabakh.

On Monday, a significant influx of refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh reportedly started arriving in Armenia.

The leaders were slated to address the status of the Zangezur corridor, a narrow piece of Armenian land that acts as a geographical barrier between Nakhichevan and the remainder of Azerbaijan. Nakhichevan shares borders not only with Armenia but also with Turkey and Iran.
