Description

The full skeleton of a woolly mammoth was put on public display for the 'Giants Of The Ice Age: Travel To Prehistoric Earth With The Woolly Mammoth' exhibition held at the iconic 'Landmark' building in Hong Kong.

Footage filmed on Monday shows the skeleton of the extinct animal, as well as visitors marvelling at the sight, taking pictures and exploring the museum.

"I originally thought I would see just pieces of it, bit by bit, but I never expected to see such a complete and well-preserved entire skeleton displayed in front of me. It's a rare opportunity because this chance is hard to come by," shared Josephine, one visitor.

"Hong Kong is not just a shopping paradise, it also values certain cultural aspects. This will definitely leave a positive impression on both locals and tourists," she said.

"I can feel like the height and the size of the teeth and the length," added Umesh, another visitor.

The exhibition was presented by Sotheby's Asia in collaboration with Landmark. According to organisers, the skeleton was of a 12,000-year-old, 3.5-metre-tall woolly mammoth of the Late Pleistocene era. The exhibition runs from August 15-29.
