President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro claimed the West was 'testing the latest generation of weapons' in the Middle East, speaking in Caracas on Tuesday.

"There is a project of domination and colonisation of the Arab and Muslim world and the Middle East, to control the sources of energy. They are testing the latest generation weapons to intimidate the world," Maduro alleged.

"It (the West) has unleashed and is supplying weapons for Netanyahu to completely destroy, first Gaza, then Palestine, bombing and killing," he continued. "80 percent of the buildings and apartments in Gaza have been destroyed, worse than a scenario from Nazi Germany, which only reminds us of Hitler's crimes."

Maduro has previously accused Israel of committing 'genocide' in Gaza, which the country has always strongly denied, saying it is targeting Hamas locations and infrastructure.

The Venezuelan leader also praised Russia as 'one of the new superpowers', adding that Western countries "imposed more than 10,000 sanctions, and all they did was strengthen Russia." The US, EU and others imposed a number of rounds of sanctions on Moscow following the outbreak of the Ukraine conflict.
