Description

Firefighters were seen extinguishing the remains of a burnt-out vehicle between the cities of Tyre and Naqoura in southern Lebanon on Wednesday, after Israel claimed it had killed one of Hamas' military leaders.

Footage also shows emergency vehicles, locals gathering and the Lebanese army stationed around the huge pile of twisted metal at the side of the road.

The Israeli military reported that one of its fighter jets had launched the attack targeting Hadi Mustafa, who it alleged that he had been involved in attacks 'against Israeli and Jewish targets in various countries around the world'.

The Palestinian militant group also confirmed that Mustafa, a member of the organisation based in Lebanon, had been killed, although did not specify his role.

Lebanese state media reported that the incident was a 'drone strike', which killed a driver, a passing motorcyclist and injured two others. Israel did not comment on the other reported casualties.

Hezbollah and Palestinian armed factions in Lebanon have exchanged fire with the Israeli army across the border since the outbreak of the Gaza war last October.
