Hundreds of fans gathered at the National Tennis Centre in Beijing on Wednesday to watch the ATP 500 men's finals between Spanish ace Carlos Alcaraz and 'World Number One' Jannik Sinner during the China Open tournament.
"The atmosphere is perfect, and then today I feel that more people than ever come. I came the other day to see the game well, and today there are more people," a tennis fan said
Footage shows crowds outside the stadium before gathering in the open-air court, taking their seats on the tribunes and lounges ahead of the match.
"Tennis still has a tradition, and I especially liked Nadal before. So, I came here this time to support Alcaraz in this tournament. I hope he can do well in today's match," a second fan added.
Alcaraz would narrowly defeat Sinner, ending his 15-match winning streak 6-7(6), 6-4, 7-6(3) in the China Open final, a thrilling showdown that went on for three hours and 21 minutes. The Spaniard also made history, becoming the first player to win the title on all three court surfaces.
