Shortly after the 9/11 attacks in 2001 and over multiple dates and locations, satellite imagery has captured a number of the most significant sites related to the events.

The images include the American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175 crash sites at the World Trade Center in New York City; the American Airlines Flight 77 crash site at the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, and the United Flight 93 crash site in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

The final two images show Osama bin Laden’s compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, days after the U.S. Navy Seals raided it in 2011.

The 9/11 terrorist attacks killed 2,977 people and injured thousands at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in Somerset County, Pennsylvania.
