    "People on social networks showed me their love and support [...] The support and affection of the people present gives me confidence. I am very grateful," Alvarez said.

    Footage shows him and Atletico Madrid President Enrique Cerezo posing for a photo with the team's jersey.

    "Today for me, I am proud to present the last reinforcement to arrive at Atlético de Madrid, Julián Alvarez, welcome to this red and white family, you and your family," Cerezo added.

    The Argentine player and World Cup hero left Manchester City in the UK this summer, after winning the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League in the 2022-23 season.
