A floating platform with 'Three Agitos', the symbol of the Paralympic games, was towed away from Odaiba Marine Park, Tokyo, on Monday following the end of the sports event series.
The 'Agitos' are a symbol consisting of three asymmetrical crescents chosen to represent the games by the International Paralympic Committee. 'Agito' is a term taken from Latin and means 'I move.'
The towed-away symbol, built of steel, is 17.5 metres (57.4 feet) tall, 23.4 metres (76.8 feet) long and 2 metres (6.6 feet) wide.
The symbol was originally installed in the marine park in August ahead of the start of the games on August 24. The Tokyo Paralympic games finished on Sunday September 5.
