The deputy governor of Mecca region Prince Saud bin Mishal took part in the annual Kabaa washing ceremony on behalf of King Salman Bin Abdulaziz on Sunday.
Footage shows the arrival of Prince Saud bin Mishal alongside a number of other officials to the Mataf, the flat area surrounding the Kaaba, while the deputy governor can also be seen kissing the Black Stone.
Bin Mishal washed the interior of the Kabaa using a piece of cloth dipped in Zamzam water mixed with rose water, which had been prepared by the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, local media reported.
Bin Mishal was received by Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, minister of Hajj and Umrah and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques, as well as Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, the President of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and Prophet’s Mosque.
Throughout the event, circumambulation of the Kaaba was underway to allow worshippers to view the ceremonial event.
