Description

As part of Operation Gallant Knight 3, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) sent volunteers to eastern Khan Yunis on Wednesday to provide urgent humanitarian aid to displaced Palestinians. Footage shows volunteers distributing food parcels, dates, and basic supplies, and helping families move their personal belongings.

The Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported that the volunteers aimed to alleviate the suffering of displaced families amid the difficult conditions they face. In a statement on Thursday, the operation announced a campaign to provide potable water to displaced families in Al Mawasi due to the suspension of the desalination plant and a lack of basic necessities in the Gaza Strip.

This aid is part of ongoing UAE efforts in response to the war between Israel and Hamas, which has lasted nine months. The conflict began on October 7 when Hamas attacked southern Israel, resulting in 1,139 deaths and over 200 kidnappings, according to Israeli officials. In retaliation, the IDF has conducted airstrikes and ground incursions in Gaza, resulting in at least 38,011 Palestinian deaths and over 87,445 injuries as of the latest reports.
