Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it had intercepted 135 Hezbollah rockets fired from Lebanon towards Upper and Central Galilee, as well as Haifa Bay on Tuesday.
It comes after Israel began a 'limited and targeted' ground incursion against Hezbollah in Lebanon last week after a campaign of airstrikes forced thousands to flee their homes in the south of the country.
According to the Lebanese Health Ministry, around 2,000 people have been killed since the latest escalation.
Tensions were heightened following mass casualties after pagers and handheld radios used by Hezbollah exploded last month, which the group blamed on Israel. The country did not comment.
The sides have exchanged cross-border fire in the north of Israel since the outbreak of the 2023 Gaza war.
