The General Command of Abu Dhabi Police unveiled their very first smart police robot, 'Saqr', at the 21st edition of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) on Saturday.

Footage shows visitors talking to police officers at the booth and interacting with the robot.

"The General Command of Abu Dhabi Police, represented by the Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate, has launched a smart robot with a human-like appearance and a military character," said Tariq Muhammad Humaidan, one of the police officers.

"This robot is designed to provide services to the public, respond to their inquiries and of course make them happy. It can present awareness videos regarding fog, seat belts, or mobile phone use," he added.

ADIHEX was first established in Abu Dhabi by the UAE's founder, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, in 2003. The event has since gained popularity among industry experts around the region and is now the Middle East's largest hunting and equestrian exhibition.

The exhibition offers regional and international companies the opportunity to meet potential partners and network. Exhibitors also have the chance to showcase their latest technologies and innovations in the hunting, equestrian and falconry sports. In addition, various auctions and competitions are held during the exhibition.
