Description

A ship transporting 320 foreign nationals from southern Lebanon arrived at the Turkish port of Mersin on Thursday as Israel's military operations against Hezbollah continued.

Footage shows the ship docking at the Turkish port and evacuees embracing their loved ones after disembarking from the vessel.

"They ceased operations, all flights were cancelled, my kid and I were stranded amid the fighting and the missiles, and we were terrified," a passenger said.

"They've bombed everywhere. It's not like what you see on TV; the place is a bloodbath," added a second.

Israel announced that it had launched a 'limited' ground incursion in southern Lebanon on Tuesday following the latest wave of air strikes on Hezbollah targets.

The IDF bombing campaign began on September 23, with more than 1,200 people killed and over 7,000 injured at the time of publication, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry.

Last Friday, an attack on Beirut's southern suburb killed Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah and others. Iran launched a wave of missiles on Tuesday, which is said was in response to that assassination and others.

Tensions in southern Lebanon escalated in mid-September after mass explosions of pagers and handheld radios belonging to Hezbollah. The group has exchanged cross-border fire with Israel since the outbreak of the Gaza war in October 2023.
