Emergency workers were seen throwing a rope to a stranded person across the raging floodwaters in Buturovic Polje, Konjic, on Friday, as heavy rainfall and landslides left at least 14 dead and dozens missing across Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday.
Footage shows the crew tossing the rope across before the person on the other side is seen taking hold, although their fate remained unclear at time of publication.
Several other municipalities were affected by the severe floods including Jablanica, Kiseljak, Kresevo, Busovaca and Fojnica. According to media reports, soldiers as well as firefighters, engineers and rescue workers were deployed across the country.
Many homes as well as roads, bridges and electricity were destroyed by the landslides.
Prime Minister of Bosnia and Hercegovina Nermin Niksic said he was in contact with the rescue team and co-ordinating aid to those remaining trapped in their houses.
Heavy rains and strong winds are also expected to affect the northern Adriatic coast and the central part of neighbouring Croatia.
